A/C Installation & Start Up

The PPA Training Center is receiving three new air conditioning and heat pump units in 2018. This training will offer the ability to finalize the installation of these units and related start up procedures! All facets of refrigeration system installation are covered including planning, piping, brazing, wiring, pump down, prestart checks, and start-up and safety essentials. It will also cover the running of line sets, controls, wiring, and proper start-up of the a/c and h/p system. We will also do recovery, evacuations, and charging by superheat and sub-cooling.

Course Objectives:
• Review installation requirements
• Review installation techniques
• Review start up procedures
• Conclusion of class will feature hands-on startup of new equipment.

Lunch is provided for attendees each day at no additional cost.

Our Instructor: Ed (Eddie) Howell brings over 40 years of industry experience to the PPA technical training program. Eddie began his career working for PA based HVAC company for nearly two decades. He has spent the last 25 years at APR Supply which included managing their training efforts for the 30+ locations. Ed’s credentials include Nortek TSA, NATE Certified in four disciplines (A/C, HP, Gas Furnace, and Oil & Gas Hydronics), RSES Member, and local OESP Chapter member.
