This course will cover the necessary procedures for checking the operation and diagnosing problems related to heat pump systems in the fall season. Troubleshooting tests will include superheat, subcooling, temperature rise and fall, and amp draw. The use of supplemental and auxiliary heat will also be discussed. The course also features a simplified performance guide/checklist for servicing heat pumps in both energy cycles with a primary focus on heating.
Technicians will leave this training well positioned to ensure heat pumps are operating at peak efficiency as they perform preventative maintenance and repair services during the fall season. Learn to take all the guesswork from determining CFMs and airflow. This class is ideal for an experienced technician who would benefit from reinforced training as they enter the upcoming heating season.

Our Instructor: Ed (Eddie) Howell brings over 40 years of industry experience to the PPA technical training program. Eddie began his career working for PA based HVAC company for nearly two decades. He has spent the last 25 years at APR Supply which included managing their training efforts for the 30+ locations.
