9:00 am - 9:30 am: The Biden Administration - Industry Impact

If you watched the Super Bowl this year, I’m sure you saw the commercial where Will Ferrell finds out Norway produces more electric cars per capita than the United States.  It definitely made folks laugh since anything Will Ferrell touches, especially the cowbell, is pure comedy gold. And I get it, EVs are coming.  But at what cost? Texas and California surely have shown us the challenges EVs face and the potential costs to consumers.  And how will America’s roads and bridges be funded in the future when EVs currently don’t pay anything into the federal highway trust fund?

Rob Underwood joined EMA in July 2007 as EMA’s Director of Government Relations to represent energy marketers on Capitol Hill. Some of Rob’s accomplishments include securing one of the most bipartisan Congressional letters sent to the EPA in recent years to address EMA’s concerns with a costly Underground Storage Tank (UST) proposed rule. Rob also played a key role in reauthorizing the National Oilheat Research Alliance (NORA) which was successfully signed into law in February 2014. Rob took over as President of EMA effective in May 2015. The most important role as EMA President is serving its 47 state and regional trade associations as well as the 8,000 independent energy marketing companies before Congress and the federal agencies.
