PPA Announces Partnership with Smart Energy Initiative
The PPA is excited to announce a new partnership with the Smart Energy Initiative of Southeastern Pennsylvania! We’ve teamed up with the SEI team due to promote the importance of continuous training for energy efficiency and conservation to technicians who attend PPA education programs.
SEI is funded by the state of Pennsylvania to reimburse eligible employers/individuals for up to 50% of the cost of training. Some eligibility requirements apply. Currently NORA Bronze and Gold classes are eligible to receive this reimbursement with the possibility of additional classes coming in 2017.
In order to receive training reimbursements from SEI, a specific process must be followed. Outreach will be coordinated by Katie Poppiti from SEI and it includes collecting various forms of personal information for the specific trainee. This information is required by the State and is used to track who was trained under various state-funded workforce development grants. Personal information social security numbers are kept in a locked, confidential file and are only accessed for reporting purposes.
Be on the look out for additional information about this new partnership once the PPA education program is released in January 2017. If you have any questions in the meantime, please contact us directly. To learn more about the Smart Energy Initiative, click here to visit their website.
